We Worship; We Pray; We Obey
Here at Elston Family Church we believe God has brought together many people from various backgrounds, with diverse gifts and abilities to “Worship, Pray and Obey.”
In the song, “The Heart of Worship,” by Matt Redman, the words, “I’m coming back to the heart of worship, and it’s all about You,” tell us that God has wired us for worship.
There is a deep longing in every individual to “bow down to something or someone;” so it is our desire to abandon ourselves in worship and make it totally about Him! As we worship the Lord, we align ourselves to what we were created to do — have relationship. Relationship opens the door for us to hear the heart of God through prayer.
James 5:16 tell us, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” A righteous man is simply one who has chosen to live by God’s standards, and who has aligned himself with His Creator in relationship; so it is our desire not only to worship passionately, but also pray powerfully to be effective in His Kingdom.
Obedience is simply a by-product of worship and prayer. It’s the difference between just being “hearers of the Word,” versus “hearers AND doers of the Word.” If we truly love Him, it will be demonstrated through willing obedience.
The last 40 years have seen some great things here at EFC; and our prayer is that in the years ahead, even greater things will happen as together, we fulfill the Great Commandment and Great Commission and fill God’s Kingdom purposes here at EFC by continuing to reach people and impact families.
God bless you!
